How to Apply Makeup Primers:
Makeup primer smoothes and perfects the surface of the skin. The product fills in fine lines and pores, as well as evens out skin texture, allowing for a long-lasting foundation and a more perfect complexion.
Step 1:
Choose either a clear or tinted primer. If you select a tinted one, try to match it to your skin tone. Corrective primers help camouflage skin blemishes (green primer, for instance, offsets redness).
Step 2:
Apply moisturizer as you would normally. Use one that has sunscreen and anti-aging components, since most primers are lighter in texture than moisturizer and don't contain these ingredients. Allow it a minute to penetrate your skin.
Step 3:
Pour a little primer onto the back of your hand to warm it. Gently dab a makeup sponge into it and apply the primer to your face, lightly patting it all over. Blend it gently with the sponge and allow it to sink in.
Step 4:
Put on your foundation and makeup as you would normally after the primer has set.
*Heavy moisturizer may cause your makeup to slide off during the day. Use a lighter daytime moisturizer along with primer for an all-day smooth finish.
*Men can use primer as an aftershave to help reduce irritation and redness and achieve a flawless finish without having to apply foundation.
